The Election Commission has announced the Central stations and polling stations for the Banadir Regional Council elections.

The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission has recently officially announced that 16 districts will hold local council elections in the Banadir region, which are expected to take place on the 25th of this month, which falls on Thursday.

The spokesperson for the Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Abdifatah Faisal Hussein, who held a press conference today at the commission’s headquarters, explained the polling stations in the districts of the Banadir region.

Spokesperson Abdifatah Faisal Hussein said that the local council elections in the Banadir region will be held in 16 districts, 213 centers and 523 locations.

“On Thursday, the 25th, at 06:00 am, voting will begin in the districts of Banadir Region and will continue until 06:00 pm. Anyone who passes by after 06:00 pm will not be able to vote, but anyone who is still in line at that time will be given another option to vote,” said National Electoral Commission Spokesperson Abdifatah Faisal Hussein.

The National Electoral Commission spokesperson has warned organizations participating in the election not to campaign inside the polling stations and venues where local council elections in the Banadir region are taking place.

The people living in the districts of Banadir region are keeping a close eye on the general elections scheduled to be held on Thursday in the capital, Mogadishu.
