A soldier shot and killed a young boy traveling to the United States and was arrested by the Banadir Regional Police.

The Banadir Regional Police Command has presented a government soldier who is suspected of killing a young man working on a Bajaj motorcycle in the Deyniile district of Mogadishu last night.

The suspect, who is in the custody of the Deyniile Police, has been identified as Abdullahi Ahmed Geedi, accused of killing the deceased Abdirisaq Abukar Mohamed, whose body has not yet been buried and is in Firinjeer.

A statement from the Banadir Regional Police Command said that the suspect will be brought to justice soon.

“The Somali Police Force, Dayniile District Station, has arrested the accused, S/le Abdullahi Ahmed Geedi, who is accused of killing the late Abdirasiq Abuukar Mohamed, a Bajaj motorcycle driver, in Dayniile District. The accused is in the custody of the police, and will be transferred to the competent court,” said the statement from the Banadir Regional Police Headquarters.

The man presented by the police is being held for the murder of a young man who was said to have recently been preparing for a trip to the United States with his wife, as they were among the thousands of people who won the lottery, which the United States gives to thousands of people living around the world every year.
