More information is available about a fierce battle in areas under the Ceeldheer district of Galgaduud region between forces of the Macawisleyda and the Al-Shabaab group.
The Macawisleyda forces attacked a militia position in the Ceeldheer district of Galgaduud region, and the two sides engaged in a battle that lasted for about an hour.
The areas where the battle took place are Ali Yabaal, Uubad and Hirsi Elmi, all under the Ceeldheer district of Galgaduud region.
Abdulqadir Ali Bugle, one of the Macawisleyda forces, told the media that they had suffered heavy losses from members of the Al-Shabaab group, adding that their forces had not suffered any casualties.
This battle comes as Al-Shabaab is still present in many areas of the Galgaduud and Mudug regions of the Galmudug regional administration.
