The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, spoke by phone last night with the Emir of Qatar, Emir Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, to express his condolences over the heinous attack carried out by Israel in Doha.

The President of Somalia expressed to the Emir of Qatar the deep pain and sorrow of the Somali people and government over the attack, affirming that Somalia fully stands with Qatar in defending its sovereignty and national security.

Finally, Somalia joins the international community in calling for restraint, respect for international law, and a lasting ceasefire that ensures justice, peace, and lasting stability in the Middle East.

Israel attacked a building in Doha late yesterday afternoon where senior Hamas leaders were meeting.
