The Federal Government of Somalia has strongly condemned the airstrikes carried out by the Israeli military in Doha, the capital of Qatar, which targeted civilian homes.
The Somali government described the act as an act of aggression that directly violates international law and human rights norms.
An official statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation expressed strong concern about the impact of these attacks on the peace and stability of the Gulf region, stating that this act is a flagrant violation of all international agreements and principles on the protection of civilians.
The ministry called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene immediately and take effective measures to stop the “aggressive acts” and prevent innocent civilians from becoming targets of violence.
The Somali government also reaffirmed its strong position that it stands with the brotherly government and people of Qatar, stating that Somalia is completely opposed to all forms of aggression and illegal invasions against an independent state.
