The Ministry of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia has launched a plan to reopen closed roads in Mogadishu, to eliminate the burden and congestion faced by the public and motorists living in Mogadishu.

The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, met with the committee tasked with finding solutions to the traffic congestion and congestion on the roads in Mogadishu, who shared with the minister information related to the solution to the closed roads.

The committee, which consists of security agencies, the Banadir regional administration and the Federal government, presented to the minister the problems arising from traffic congestion on the roads of Mogadishu and how to conduct a formal assessment of the closed roads in order to reopen them.

The Minister of Internal Security of Somalia instructed the committee to immediately begin work, and to prepare a plan in consultation with security agencies, transport, and district administrations in the Banadir region.

This plan to reopen closed roads comes after the streets known as the “Jid Badaiyasa” in Mogadishu have been closed for several years due to large rocks, and the government has previously stated that this step is related to ensuring overall security in Mogadishu.
