Former Galmudug President Abdikarim Hussein Guled said that the Somali government needs to establish technical committees from the parties concerned before the June 15th conference called for by President Hassan Sheikh.

In a press release, he said that these technical committees will be important for the conference to be fruitful and for a lasting solution to the difficult situations in Somalia.

He announced that he would once again clarify that before the opening of the conference, it is necessary to establish technical committees representing all parties concerned, to agree on the fundamental issues for the success of this conference.

Abdikarim Hussein Guled also highlighted the importance of the official agenda of the conference being a place for negotiation in order to agree on the key points that will lead to a solution to the difficult political situation in the country.

Finally, he suggested that in order to make the most of the time, and to unify views and positions, it is necessary to unify the meetings and make them a single platform.

In recent hours, concerns have been growing that the consultative conference announced by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to reach unified decisions on controversial issues such as the Constitution, the 2026 elections, security, and what to do with the missing regional states that are politically at odds with the government will be interrupted again.
