The Somali National Disaster Management Authority (SoDMA) has responded to serious allegations stemming from a medical donation that SoDMA delivered to Moqokori district the day before.
SODMA said that on the 24th of this month, it delivered one ton of various types of emergency aid to Moqokori district in Hiran region.
SODMA also described as false and baseless a video that has been widely shared on social media in the past few hours that the agency delivered expired medicines and Covid-19 clothing to Moqokori.
“The medicines we delivered and those shown in the video have nothing to do with each other, in fact, whoever showed this should take responsibility, the medicines we delivered were of high quality and intended for emergency situations of injuries and mothers and children, which amounted to one ton,” said a SODMA spokesperson.
SODMA also stated that there is a humanitarian situation in Moqokori district of Hiran region, and is planning to address the humanitarian and livelihood conditions in Moqokori.
SODMA’s press conference is coming, after a scandalous video was filmed of medical aid that SODMA delivered to Moqokori the day before, which resulted in a lot of talk and scandal for SODMA.
