Reports from Jowhar town in Middle Shabelle region indicate that an armed group killed Dr. Mohamed Abdi Ali, known as Dr. Gaalib, the Director of the Religious Affairs Department of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of Hirshabelle State, last night in the Hantiwadaag neighborhood.
The reports add that the group that carried out the assassination fled the scene and security agencies have already begun searching for the killers. It is not known who was behind the murder of Dr. Gaalib, who was a young scholar and worked in various health facilities.
The Minister of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs of Hirshabelle, MP Ali Osman Ibrahim, Ali Ciley, sent his condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased.
In a statement issued by the minister on the death of the director, he expressed his condolences to all employees of the Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Hirshabelle, on the death of the director, and directed the security agencies to immediately bring those responsible for the murder to justice.
