The Governor of Mudug Region in Puntland, Faysal Sheikh Ali Jifo-jabsade, has accused the PSF of serving the Federal Government of Somalia and engaging in illegal activities that threaten the security of Puntland.
The Governor said that the military activities carried out by the PSF in Galkayo are specifically aimed at creating military conflicts and chaos, which will disrupt the stability of Galkayo city.
“Hasan Sheikh and his team are under their control. Their leaders have joined them. They are the ones who want to make the nation waste their blood and property,” said the Governor of Mudug Region.
The Governor called on the Galmudug administration not to cooperate with these forces, and to cooperate with anyone who threatens the general security of Mudug region.
He added that the PSF has previously refused to participate in Puntland’s fight against ISIS and Al-Shabaab.
The Governor’s statement comes as PSF forces have carried out military activities in Galkayo city. The troops have been confirmed to have withdrawn from Southern Mudug, in cooperation with the Danab forces under the Federal Government of Somalia.
