The Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, Amb. Wang Yu, met with the leader of SSC-Khaatumo, Abdikadir Ahmed Aw-Ali, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation.
The meeting, which took place in Mogadishu, focused on issues such as safeguarding the national unity, territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia, and promoting bilateral development cooperation.
China “We and the SSCKhaatumo Regional Government agree to safeguard the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Somali nation,” said a statement published on the X page of the Chinese Embassy in Somalia.
The Chinese government has clearly expressed its support for the unity and territorial integrity of Somalia, as one of the countries that strongly oppose the secession of Somaliland, which today marks the 34th anniversary of its declaration of independence from the rest of Somalia.
Beijing has repeatedly reiterated that it will not accept any interference that undermines the territorial integrity of Somalia, and fully supports the Federal Government of Somalia and its efforts to establish a unified and inclusive state.
Leader Firdhiye thanked the Ambassador for the warm welcome he received at the Chinese Embassy and for the Chinese people’s commitment to participating in the construction and development of Somali statehood.
