The Independent National Electoral and Boundaries Commission (INEBC) has announced that it has extended the registration period for political parties in the country after receiving requests from political parties, as stated in the statement.
The Commission has informed political parties and all other stakeholders in electoral matters that it has extended the registration period for political parties by nine (9) days.
The Commission noted that the 9-day period will start on Tuesday, 22/04/2025 and will end on 30/4/2025, and this is the second time that the Commission has extended the registration period for political parties.
The Commission said in a statement that the extension of the period was due to the pace of the registration of political parties and the requests from political parties that are in the process of completing the requirements and documents.
In addition to registration issues, the Electoral Commission is also actively registering people living in the capital who are receiving voting cards.
