The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ahmed Macalin Fiqi, has announced that the Somali government will take a strong decision on the continued presence in the country of the acting head of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM), whom he accused of being a supporter of Al-Shabaab.

Minister Fiqi said that Ambassador Erido Amb Sivuyile Thandikhaya Bam, a South African diplomat and the Deputy and Acting Special Representative of the African Union in Somalia and the Acting Head of Support for the New AUSSOM Mission in Somalia, has sent reports to the world showing his support for Al-Shabaab.

He pointed out that the United Nations Security Council is one of the forums where this man has made statements stating that Al-Shabaab wants a state and has stopped killing civilians and many other terrorist practices.

“The man who is the AUSSOM mission sponsor has been under the radar for a long time, but now it seems that he has not been able to hide himself, we have not been silent about him for a long time, he has become a supporter of Al-Shabaab, he has become a person who is jealous of the development of Somalia,” said Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Macalin Fiqi.
