The body of General Shegow Ahmed Ali was today buried at Digfeer Hospital in Mogadishu, attended by the general’s relatives and other people from his community.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of the Armed Forces, Libaan Ali Yarow, was among those who prayed for Shegow’s body today after prayers in the city of Jowhar in the Middle Shabelle region, at the request of his relatives.
While escorting Shegow’s body to Aden Adde Airport, these people chanted the Takbir and demanded justice for the deceased general, who was previously sentenced to 10 years in prison by a court.
There were reports of gunfire from government forces, causing injuries to people, after clashes between the general’s supporters and the general near the airport.
The Somali government has previously confirmed that the general died of liver failure, as he had been ill for some time.
