Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, who visited Djibouti yesterday, met with President Ismail Omar Guelleh and discussed strengthening the fight against Al Shabaab.
The two Presidents focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries by working together on security, economic, trade and political issues.
President Hassan Sheikh thanked the government and people of the Republic of Djibouti for their active role in peacekeeping, development and continued support for Somalia.
Hassan Sheikh particularly thanked the role of Djiboutian forces in Somalia in the fight against Al Shabaab.
For his part, President Ismail Omar Guelleh noted that Djibouti has always stood by its Somali brothers, and will continue to strengthen the support it provides to Somalia, especially in combating Al Shabaab, rebuilding government institutions and strengthening security institutions.
