The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, and a large delegation he led arrived in Djibouti early today.
The President and his delegation were warmly welcomed at the airport in the capital city of Djibouti, where he will hold a special meeting with his Djiboutian counterpart, Ismail Omar Guelleh.
The Somali Presidency announced that the two presidents will discuss issues such as strengthening the traditional relations and strategic cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of security, economy, politics and strengthening the overall stability of the region.
The two presidents are also expected to discuss the war that the Somali government is waging against Al-Shabaab and ISIS groups, which has been intensifying in some regions of the country in recent months.
Finally, the government of Djibouti is one of the governments that provides the greatest support to Somalia in many areas, primarily security, and Djibouti is stationed in Somalia, especially in the Hiiraan region, as part of the new AUSSOM peacekeeping mission.
