The Somaliland government has ordered private hospitals to provide free treatment to soldiers injured in the war.

The Somaliland Ministry of Health Development issued the order after it said it had received reports that one of the private hospitals had refused to treat a wounded soldier.

“We have decided that all private hospitals should provide free treatment to wounded soldiers who come to their facilities, who were injured in the defense of the country, and receive them with hospitality and compassionate service,” the ministry’s order said.

The ministry also ordered that highly qualified doctors working in private hospitals be sent to public hospitals if they encounter a difficult situation that requires support, especially when a soldier is brought in in poor condition.

The ministry also ordered that private doctors protect the information of the soldiers they are treating and not share it with anyone other than the agency that is responsible for it.

Finally, private hospitals were instructed to contact the Ministry of Health Development if they face difficulties or situations they cannot handle.
