The Speaker of the House of the People of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), has stated that a member of the House of the People has lost his membership in the House, and therefore, the relevant institutions are required to fill the seat numbered Hop201.
The MP who lost his membership in the House of the People, Dr. Abdullahi Xashi Abiib, was cited as the reason for losing his seat because he did not attend the House of the People for more than two consecutive sessions, and did not submit a valid reason for his absence,
Therefore, he lost his membership in the House of the People in accordance with Article 59, paragraph (d) and Article 8, paragraph (4) of the Rules of Procedure of the House of the People.
Dr. Abdullahi Hashi Abiib, one of the members of the House of the People who won his seat in the Northern Regions, has revealed to the House of the People’s Ombudsman that he has only attended five sessions of the 141 sessions held by the Somali House of the People.
A letter from the Office of the Speaker of the House of the People stated that in implementing the provisions mentioned above, Speaker Sheikh Aden Madoobe has informed the relevant institutions to fill the vacant seat, through a process consistent with the constitution.
MP Dr Abdullahi Hashi Abiib has published reports on his website X several times, mostly containing heated allegations aimed at the leaders of the Somali Government and the Speaker of the Parliament.
