The Puntland regional administration said they have received information that members of the Daesh group were being treated in hospitals in the city of Hargeisa in Somaliland, according to one of the reporters accompanying the Puntland forces fighting the Daesh group.

The reporter reported that the Puntland forces have received letters containing confidential information from the last areas captured from Daesh. According to the report, these documents indicate that commercial companies are believed to have facilitated the transport of the victims or provided funds to the group.

Puntland’s security forces said that they have started investigations into these allegations, while temporarily banning the disclosure of the names of the hospitals and business centers linked to this matter.
Puntland has already accused Somaliland of supporting Daesh and Al-Shabaab groups fighting in its areas, but Somaliland has denied these allegations.

Hiran Online cannot independently verify the authenticity of documents received.

Last week, Puntland said that its forces have received Somaliland shillings from the areas liberated from ISIS.

The President of Puntland, Saeed Abdullahi Deni, has underlined that the third phase of the Hilac operation will target individuals and companies suspected of having links with Daesh.

“We will target anyone who benefits or finances terrorism,” said Deni.

Puntland security officials have stepped up counter-terrorism efforts, saying they are focusing on destroying economic and logistical networks that support armed groups in Somalia.
