The governor of Hiraan region, Muse Salad Wehliye, has given more details about the heavy losses inflicted on the Al-Shabaab group in Hiraan region.
Muse Salad said that all the places where the fighting took place yesterday are under the control of the national army and the people’s defenders, known as Mawisleyda, after a long-hour battle with Al-Shabaab.
“We have defeated the Khawarij in the war that took place. The national and local forces are in control of the areas that were liberated from the Khawarij and it was announced yesterday that there was no way to recover. We have removed the holes and the towers where they were plotting and we have moved them across the river,” said Governor Musa Salad.
Governor Musa Salad also highlighted the achievements of the allied forces in the fight against Al-Shabaab, noting that they will continue the fight against Al-Shabaab to liberate Hiran region and the country as a whole.
However, the war that took place yesterday in the areas along the Shabelle River was the strongest that took place there, and the governor said that they killed many leaders and other militia members of Al-Shabaab, and presented prisoners who were captured in the war.
