The Minister of Petroleum and Minerals of Somalia, Dahir Shire Mohamed, held an important meeting with the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey, Alparslan Bayraktar, to strengthen issues related to oil exploration in Somalia.

The meeting that took place in Istanbul, Turkey focused on the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of petroleum exploration and development, and the minister thanked the Turkish government for its development efforts in Somalia.

In the meeting, it was said that the Oruç Reis exploration ship has completed 50% of its seismic survey in Somali waters, which is an important achievement. He also reviewed the oil exploration strategy in Somalia.

The Minister of Petroleum of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar said that the Minister of Petroleum of Somalia has evaluated the future way of exploration activities and the new cooperation that can be promoted in the activities of oil exploration.

“We will continue our efforts to increase our cooperation in the fields of energy and minerals,” said the Turkish Petroleum Minister.
