The President of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has greatly praised the joint operation of the forces of the Federal Government of Somalia and the United States of America, which targeted senior leaders and members of the Daesh group (ISIS), which took place in the mountains of the Bari region of Puntland State. .
A press release from the Ministry of Information of the Federal Government said that Somalia and the United States are working together to eliminate the Daesh group which is a threat to the entire region.
“This operation targeting the top leadership of ISIS shows the strong cooperation between the United States and Somalia in the fight against terrorism, which helps to eliminate any threat that undermines the stability of our country and the region as a whole,” the press release said.
It was also stated in the press that this operation targeted the important individuals of Daesh to show how Somalia and the United States are committed to security, stabilizing the region and preventing the spread of extremist groups, in order to save the lives of innocent people.
The Federal Government of Somalia also said that it will continue joint operations to destroy the so-called terrorist groups in Somalia.
