The President of Puntland, Syed Abdillahi Deni, has called for the situation in Eerigabo to be resolved peacefully.
Deni said that the city of Eerigabo is a land where the people of Puntland and Somaliland live together, who have been living together for 30 years under a peace agreement, and it is necessary to end the new situation peacefully.
“I am sending a message here to the Somaliland authorities to review the file. This is not a good history, we want to get rid of the conflicts. The only enemy that Somaliland has is Al-Shabaab and Daesh. We want the wars to stop. tribal and political,” said Deni.
The governor of Sanaag region of Somaliland, Ahmed Abdi Muse, welcomed Deni’s statement, saying that it is necessary for the people of Erigabo to live together in peace, under the flag of Somaliland, which has been in agreement since the 1990s.
Deni’s statement comes at a time when there have been wars in the city of Eerigabo and its surroundings, which has been peaceful for a long time.
The people living in Eerigabo district, which consists of different communities, reached a peace agreement in the early 1990s that indicated coexistence, and that agreement led to Eerigabo being peaceful for a long time.
