The Somali National Army and the local forces have officially taken control of Jiciboow area in Hiran region, after a decisive battle with the Al-Shabaab group.
Battles that lasted for many hours took place today in the area of Jicibow, which was an important stronghold of the Al-Shabaab group in the past days, as this area is located on the banks of the Shabelle River.
The allied forces forcibly removed the Al-Shabaab group from a large hole they dug along the Shabelle River in Jicibow area where the group used to cross the Shabelle River on the west side of Hiran region.
Officials from the local defense forces that we spoke with told us that a heavy defeat was inflicted on Al-Shabaab in today’s battles, and the loss of bodies of the group will be revealed in the next few hours.
However, the armed forces of the country with the help of the local people have been conducting extensive operations for the past four days in the areas located in the East of Hiraan region between the cities of Halgan and Bula Burte.
Finally, the areas such as Beero Yabal, Bur Abooto, Eega Galmaay, Jidcilan, Adow Gurey and Jicibow are all the last areas that Al-Shabaab has been liberated from in the last four days.
