The Commander of the 4th Division of the new AUSSOM operation, Major General Said Waberi and the Commander of the Somali National Army, S/Gaas Odawaa Yusuf Raage met in Beledweyne, Hiran region and discussed the fight against terrorist groups.
During their meeting, they discussed the establishment of Joint Operations Coordination Centers to share intelligence and strengthen efforts against terrorism.
S/Gaas Odawaa thanked AUSSOM for its role in liberating the areas from Al-Shabaab, and emphasized the importance of their close cooperation.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commander of the 4th Division of AUSSOM, Lieutenant Colonel Shumet Telelew, the Commander of the Djibouti Army Brigade of AUSSOM, Lieutenant Colonel Mohamed Ahmed Yussuf, and other officers of the Somali National Army and AUSSOM.
This new operation that will come into effect this year in Somalia is expected to soon join forces from Egypt.
