The Minister of Information of the Puntland administration, Mohamud Ayid Dirir, said that the Puntland forces foiled a planned attack by the Daesh group to disrupt the security of Puntland.
The minister pointed out that the Puntland forces killed a group of foreigners who led the attack in the village of Dharjale, noting that there was not a single Somali person in the group that launched the attack.
Although the Minister refrained from detailing the losses suffered by the Puntland forces, he insisted that they had failed the purpose of the Daesh group in this attack.
Independent reports received by Hiraan Online say that Puntland lost more than 10 soldiers in the war, while around 30 others were injured. Also, a truck that was carrying supplies to the army was burnt in a targeted suicide bombing.
