The 15th Somali Studies Conference which opened today in Mogadishu and the participation of President Hassan Sheikh.

The President of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, today opened the 15th Conference of the International Association of Somali Studies in Mogadishu, 35 years after the conference was held in Mogadishu.

President Hassan Sheikh stressed on the importance of government building and the recovery of the Somali nation, that a scientific method is used to study the obstacles to the development of governance, economy and knowledge of the Somali nation.

The president also pointed out that the government is committed to supporting Somali academics and researchers in order to find a lasting solution to the problems that hinder the self-sufficiency of the Somali people.

“In the struggle to build the government that we have been in since the collapse, we have always felt the absence of the role of Somali thinkers who are really addressing our problems. Fortunately, this conference has come at the most important time and we should take advantage Let’s use it quickly” said President Hassan.

The 15th Conference of the International Association of Somali Studies, which was held for the first time in 1979, will be attended by more than 400 delegates, including Somali scholars, international researchers and some of the officials of the Horn of Africa Universities, and the conclusion of this conference will be issued, Studies on the development of Somali society.
