Reports from Baidoa city in the Bay Region say that the President of the South West Administration, Abdicasis Laftagareen, has ordered more troops to be deployed outside Baidoa City to prevent Al-Shabaab attacks.

The military officers of the Darwish forces in the South West of Somalia said that these forces have been prepared to set up bases outside the city to stop the mortar attacks by Al-Shabaab in the city and Baidoa Airport.

It has happened several times that al-Shabaab attacks from the outskirts of the city from inside the city, especially the bases of the Darwish army in the southwest, most of them happen at night.

The President of the South West Administration and the army officers who recently had special meetings on the general security of Baidoa City, this seems to strengthen the security of the Bay region.

In the past weeks, the South West forces have been carrying out special operations in areas of the South West where they are suspected of being active against Al-Shabaab.
