Somalia has spoken strongly about Ethiopia’s threat to the diplomatic dispute resulting from the Addis Ababa agreement with the Somaliland administration.
The Minister of Defense of Somalia, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, said that Somalia will not be intimidated by the threats of Ethiopia, and the country is ready to respond to any action against its army or its people.
The minister who gave a speech in a public place said “We want Somalia and Ethiopia to live in peace and neighborliness, however, if the weak administration of Abiy and Jula cannot take peace, let the people who fuel the conflict see who they are. serious.
The minister’s statement was a direct response to the commander of the Ethiopian Defense Forces (ENDF), Field Marshal Berhanu Jula, who previously said that Somalia is not capable of taking any military action against Ethiopia.
“Hasan Sheikh is not able to go to war, he must first secure the security of Mogadishu, before he thinks of confronting us,” said Jula in a recent interview.
“He must secure his seat first,” Jula added, hinting that Somalia’s leadership is unstable and not ready for conflict.
“If anyone is getting help from foreign forces trying to interfere in our internal affairs by supporting the opposition and sending us into a civil war, he is a traitor,” Jula said.
He continued to emphasize that Ethiopia has friends in Somalia, who will prevent such interference.
