The Cabinet of Ministers of the Federal Government of Somalia in its meeting on Thursday approved the appointment of the new Commander of the Somali Police Force named Asad Osman Abdullahi Diyano.
The appointment of the new Commander of the Somali Police Force, General Asad Osman Abdullahi Diyano, came at the suggestion of the Ministry of Internal Security, and the council meeting that approved this appointment was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama.
“The new commander approved by the Council is an officer with knowledge and experience in military matters, who served as the Commander of the Puntland Security Force in PSF between 2007 and 2018,” said a statement issued at the Ministerial meeting.
The appointment of the new commander of the Somali Police force named Asad Diyano has come, while in the past there has been a lot of talk that he will be appointed to this position.
Finally, the commander who was removed from this position, Farin Ahmed Sulub, was appointed a few hours ago as the deputy minister of the Ministry of Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia.
