The Hirshabelle police forces have conducted an operation between the cities of Jowhar and Balcad in the Middle Shabelle region and arrested bandits who were committing robbery.
There are 5 gang members who were arrested, and it was said that they were caught in the process of robbing refugees who use the road connecting Jowhar and Balcad.
An officer of the Hirshabeelle Police who spoke to the media said that the purpose of this operation was to clear the bandits from the main road that connects these cities.
“We have arrested a bandit who was harassing the public and 5 people have been arrested. We have seized materials that were stolen from the public, and we will submit them to the relevant courts,” said the Hirshabelle Police officer.
The officer also said that such operations will continue on the long road that connects Jowhar and Balcad and said that gangs have been increasing in recent times.
“Whether they are bandits or Mawisley, or government forces or ordinary bandits, we are determined to fight them and deal with the problems of the people traveling on that road,” said the Hirshabelle police officer.
This operation is coming, as in recent times there have been increasing complaints about bandits robbing travelers between Jowhar and Balcad in the Middle Shabelle region.
