Youth protesting against the arrest of Osman Omar Dool, who criticizes the government of Somaliland on social media, held a protest in the city of Hargeisa.
The Sultan General of Somaliland Sultan Daoud Sultan Mohamed Sultan Abdiqadir, who spoke to the youth, called for the immediate release of Dool “within 24 hours if the man is not released, I have nothing to do with what happens”.
The sultan, on the other hand, consoled the young rebels by saying that Dool was not harmed and that men can be arrested.
Dool, one of Somaliland’s diaspora, was once the representative of the Nationalist Party for the affairs of the European continent, and he severely criticizes the government of Somaliland on social media.
Dool has come to Somaliland several times before, but he was not arrested. It is not known why he was arrested this time. The people who protested today went to the airport to welcome him.
