The forces of the Federal Government of Somalia and the Deravishes of the South West Administration have conducted operations against Al-Shabaab in the last few hours on the roads connecting the regions of Bay, Bakool and Gedo.
It is said that members of the Al-Shabaab group were hiding in these roads where the joint forces carried out operations.
According to a statement issued by the Federal Government, the troops have taken over several areas whose names have not been disclosed, and they have also destroyed places where the group used to collect money from various types of vehicles.
Some of the officers who led the operation and spoke to the national media said that the purpose was to ensure the security of the roads connecting Bay, Bakool and Gedo regions, where they said that sometimes the group harassed the exiles.
In recent days, the government forces and those in the South West have increased their operations against Al-Shabaab in the South West areas.
