The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Somalia, Ahmed Macallin Fiqi, announced that the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which includes almost 30 African countries, is supporting Somalia’s candidate for the position of Chairperson of the African Union Commission for 2025-2028.

“Somalia is very grateful for the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), which includes around 30 members from Africa, as they recognized and supported Somalia’s nomination of Fowsiya Yusuf Adam as Somalia’s candidate for the Chairperson of the African Union. in 2025-2028.” Theology said so.

The OIC is an alliance of 57 countries in which Islam plays a significant role. Among those countries are those where Islam is the state religion, those where Muslims are the majority, and some where Muslims are a minority, but have a prominent role.
