The Journalist Association of the Somali Regional Government, which spoke about the sentence against the journalist Muhyadin Show, said that the sentence was not correct and in line with justice, saying that they were not satisfied with the sentence and now they have reviewed or appealed the sentence, as Abdirisaq Hassan, the Chairman of the Journalist Association of the Somali Regional Government, told the media.

On the other hand, Abdirisaq said that the court had already released Muhyadin as bail, but the government did not implement that decision, and he was still in prison until the 2-year sentence was announced by the court a few days ago.

The CPJ Journalists Union, which spoke about the arrest of the journalist Muhyadin Show, said that the journalist was first arrested by the security forces of the Somali region, who kept Muhyadin for six days in an unknown place until he was brought to the police station.

Moutoki Muma, one of CPJ’s African program coordinators, said in her opinion that the ruling on the Muhyadin Show for two years shows the pressure and suppression of the press working in Ethiopia.

Finally, the CPJ Journalists Association called on the Ethiopian Government to protect and not oppose the review or appeal of journalist Muhyiddin Mohamed Abdullahi, who was sentenced to 2 years in prison by the Faafan Regional Court in Jigjiga, while he was imprisoned for three years. months.
