The countries that joined the Arab Economic and Cooperation Forum, the countries of Central Asia and Azerbaijan have declared that they fully support the position taken by the government of Somalia in the agreement signed by the government of Ethiopia and Somaliland.
At the conclusion of a meeting held by these countries, it was stated that the agreement is a flagrant violation of the principles of international law, and the independence and territorial integrity of Somalia, good neighborly relations, peaceful coexistence and stability. the region.
These countries have expressed their opposition to that agreement and any legal, political, commercial and military measures resulting from that agreement, and they have urged all countries to condemn and reject that agreement.
They described the agreement that Ethiopia wants to take part of the sea from Somalia as a threat to the security of the Arab countries and the movement of the region.
The meeting that condemned the agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland was attended by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Arab countries, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Kazakhstan and the Secretary General of the Arab University Association Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
