The new Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartaag, spoke about the end of the operations against the Al-Shabaab group throughout the country.
He said that the operations to fight Al-Shabaab are going on in all the regions of the country, and by April next year, 2025, the entire country will be freed from the group.
Minister Fartaag took as an example that the operations in Hirshabelle and Galmudug areas will be completed in the coming months.
“It has been confirmed that the men have no strength and no strength and what they are doing is terrorism, hiding and intimidation. I expect this month that by the end of this month Somalia will be cleansed of the Khawarij, because the Galmudug government will be with us this month. In the near future, the Khawarij will be left, now Hirshabelle will be turned and it will be easy for us to eliminate the Khawarij,” said the Minister of Internal Security, Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail Fartag.
The security minister also noted that the Federal Government of Somalia is committed to eradicating Al-Shabaab from the entire country.
The statement made by the new minister of internal security in Somalia comes at the same time as the Al-Shabaab group has recently increased its attacks on government military bases in some regions of the country.
