The Vice President of Puntland, Ahmed Ilmi Osman Karaash welcomed the decision of the SSC-Khatumo, which was that they will not select the 17-year-old who represented the Puntland parliament.
The Vice President said that he is in favor of entering the Puntland presidential election with 49 MPs, and he declared that he will not accept 17 MPs who did not represent SSC-Khatumo.
“I fully welcome this election to be held in 49 by respecting the fateful decision of the community in those areas. We will never accept 17 members who do not have community representation in those areas in any capacity.
Ahmed Karaash warned against any action that could lead to political and security instability.
The statement of the Puntland vice president came as the committee for the resolution of disputes and the approval of the members of the parliament, is going to announce tomorrow the list of the members of the parliament of Puntland.
The list is believed to include 17 MPs from SSC-Khatumo, who are accused of being handpicked by President Deni, and there is a long list of his cabinet and other people close to him.
In the committee, reports say that they are in disagreement, whether to include or exclude members of SSC-Khatumo from the list that will be announced tomorrow.
Last night, the Puntland party said that 49 MPs will be elected, and they said that there will be no impact on that number in the parliamentary and presidential elections.
