30 of the Puntland Elders that met in Garowe last night, issued a decision to respect the decision of the SSC-Khatumo denomination not to be part of the selection of Puntland parliamentarians.
Isimada, which was chaired by King Burhan King Muse, decided that the Puntland election will include 49 MPs, and after the election, it will be discussed how to fill the seats vacated by SSC-Khatumo.
Isimmada also said that the members from SSC-Khatumo who are in the committee for resolution of disputes and approval of members of parliament should resign, as SSC-Khatumo was not part of the election.
Isimmada’s decision came after President Deni said that the election will be held for the 66 MPs, while the opposition candidates are accusing the president of hand-picking the 17 positions from SSC-Khatumo.
