Reports from Mudug state that Al-Shabaab has left its bases in the areas of Dumaye and Dabagalo in the south of the region.
When the group left those areas, they released some of the many prisoners who had been imprisoned in those areas for years.
A statement issued by the federal government has confirmed that the Al-Shabaab group has left Dabagalo and Dumaye areas, and some of the prisoners who escaped from the group have been brought to Bajeela area.
“In Bajela area in the south of Mudug region, 6 of the prisoners released by Al-Shabaab were released last night, which were among the 11 civilians they took from the rural areas of Wisil in the south of Mudug region in 2021, 6 “The people who were presented last night in Bajeela area include 2 boys who have been imprisoned by Al-Shabaab for years.” said the statement issued by the government.
The text also said that the Al-Shabaab group killed the other 5 people who were abducted sixty people, some of whom were shot and others starved to death in their prisons.
However, it is not yet known officially why the Al-Shabaab group has vacated their bases in Dumaye and Dabagalo areas in the South of Mudug, but it is worth noting that these areas are carrying out strong activities by the government forces and the local people.
