The Federal Government of Somalia and the local people in cooperation have carried out operations in areas under the town of Amara in the Mudug region.
The operations were said to be aimed at ensuring the security of the city of Amara and the surrounding areas, according to the media, government officials said.
The officials also said that the forces are now preparing to take over the city of Aad and the surrounding areas which are still under the control of the Al-Shabaab group.
In the areas of Mudug region of Galmudug administration, the operation against the Al-Shabaab group has been going on rapidly in the past months.
However, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has been leading the war against Al-Shabaab in the city of Dhusamareb in the Galmudug capital for two months.
