Reports from Dolow district in Gedo region say that today there was a fight in the district between the Somali Police and the Ethiopian military.
The fight was said to have come after the Ethiopian forces ordered the police forces at a checkpoint near the bridge in Dolowo district to vacate the checkpoint, but they denied water to the troops who were at the checkpoint.
Somali police forces and Ethiopian military forces fought there for a short time, but no casualties were reported.
Today’s battle between the Somali and Ethiopian police in Dolowo is coming, as there has been a tension between the Ethiopian army and the army loyal to the politician Barre Adan Shire Hiralle.
The tension came after Barre Hiralle announced yesterday that Ethiopian officers and soldiers threatened to kill him if he did not leave within 24 hours handcuffed and put on a plane.
The latest reports say that Barre Hiraalle’s army has made strong defenses in Dolow district, and it is worth noting that Barre Hiraalle has announced that he will fight the Ethiopian army if they attack.
In conclusion, there is no news from the Federal Government of Somalia and the Jubbaland administration regarding today’s war in Dolow district and the tension between Barre Hiralle and the Ethiopian army.
