The Somali government said that an attack was carried out on a place in the city of Elbur where Al-Shabaab leaders were meeting, where a number of leaders were killed.
The news from the government said that Al-Shabaab lost its leader in the operation, including the head of finance of the Al-Shabaab group in Galgaduud region, who was called Sahal.
The commander of the 26th Brigade of the National Army, G/le Ismail A/malik, confirmed that this operation was part of the air support provided by international friends. The members who accompanied the targeted officer were also killed.
The city of Elbur is one of the cities that the government recently took over, but the army later left.
Al-Shabaab has returned and now rules there.
