MSF has announced that it will continue to work in the Sool region, while continuing its medical activities in the Kalabaydh area, which is about 40 kilometers south of the city of Lasanood.

In a press release from the MSF organization, it was stated that the organization is providing basic care for mothers and children who have been displaced by the conflicts in Lasanood.

It was recently when MSF announced that it was leaving the Sool region, after its workers were affected by Somaliland’s airstrikes on health centers in Lasaanood.

However, efforts made by the SSC-Khatumo cultural council succeeded in persuading the organization not to leave the region altogether, but to continue its activities temporarily in the Kalabaydh area.

For more than 40 years, MSF has been addressing human health and malnutrition emergencies in communities across Somalia’s internationally recognized borders.

The agency said it is committed to continuing its operations, guided by medical ethics, principles, independence and impartiality.
