Somaliland’s ruling party in Kulmiye has welcomed the decision of the election committee to prioritize the union and presidential elections.
The Minister of Internal Affairs of Somaliland and the First Deputy Chairman of the Kulmiye Party, Mohamed Kahin Ahmed, who spoke to the media at the headquarters of the party, said that as a party, they welcome the decision of the committee.
“The Kulmiye party fully supports the decision made by the election commission regarding the order and schedule of the elections, which will be followed by the presidential election,” Kaahin said.
The reason for their support for the committee’s decision is that the constitution is a guide for Somaliland and that Somaliland is committed to protecting the constitution, and the committee is based on law.
He said that all the current parties have participated in the union elections, and that we cannot reject them today.
Until now, the UCID party has clearly rejected the decision of the committee, the Waddani party said that they are considering the decision to take, and 10 new political organizations and the government have fully supported the decision of the committee.
