Kenyan Defense Minister Aden Barre Duale said that the Kenyan army and other security groups will deal with the activities of al-Shabaab, to ensure that Kenyan land remains safe.
He warned Al-Shabaab and noted that they will not be allowed to commit terrorist acts in Kenya.
“The militia should not find refuge in Kenya when they are expelled from Somalia. “The Kenyan army and other security groups are vigilant and determined to reduce terrorist-related activities,” Minister Duale said.
He promised that his ministry will continue to increase the capacity of the Kenya Defense Forces, to get modern weapons to increase the strength of the army, and to empower the military to fight the security threats of the Al-Shabaab group.
The North East region and some parts of the coast were being attacked by the Al Shabaab group, who carried out attacks that killed many people, burned property, and also cut people’s throats.
