The city of Mogadishu was attacked by artillery and mortars during the morning prayer.

Additional reports are coming from a number of artillery shells that hit the Somali Presidential Palace in Mogadishu around the morning of the morning prayer.

The mortars caused casualties including death and injuries to civilians in their homes.

It has been confirmed that a Somali father and his daughter died when one of the mortars hit their house in a neighborhood in Waberi district of Mogadishu, and the mother of the family and other members of the same family were also injured.

The reports add that the father who died in the mortar attack in his house was a well-known Quran school teacher in Waberi district of Mogadishu.

The people who live in Mogadishu who were mostly asleep during the artillery fire woke up at once to the sound of the artillery, most of which were fired towards the Somali Presidency.

The Al-Shabaab group sometimes attacks the country’s presidential palace with artillery, and most of these artillery fire hits civilian houses near the Somali presidential palace, causing death and injury to innocent civilians.
