The government of Somaliland has said that the students from Lasanod will not enter the secondary and middle school certificate exams, which will start tomorrow due to the conflict situation.
The Minister of Education of Somaliland, Ahmed Mohamed Diriye Toorno, said that the students of Lasanood who were affected by the conflicts will completely pass without taking the exam, and will be evaluated.
“Out of the 23 constituencies in Somaliland, the exam was held in only one district, and the cabinet said that the students should pass because of the current situation, and the exam is not even held in one of the villages,” said Minister Toorno.
The certification exam will be held in most areas of Somaliland, with the participation of more than 40 thousand students, living in different areas.
The minister also said that the exam will be conducted in Badhan region and he said that Puntland has already said that it will not be conducted in Somaliland.
