The Minister of Defense of the governments of Somalia and Kenya who held a meeting today in Nairobi, Kenya, discussed cooperation in the fight against the Al-Shabaab group that is fighting in Somalia and parts of Kenya.
The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Abdiqadir Mohamed Noor, has discussed with his Kenyan counterpart, Aden Barre Duale, how the Kenyan government can help the Somali army with high-level military training.
“We discussed the leadership role of the CXDS in the ongoing operation and that they will help us with the high level training of the CXDS,” said the XFS defense minister.
Minister Abdiqadir Mohamed Nur thanked his Kenyan counterpart Aden Barre Duale for the role of the Kenyan government in fighting Al-Shabaab.
In conclusion, the Kenyan government is one of the governments whose troops are operating in Somalia as part of the African Union’s ATMIS mission, which is specifically operating in Jubbaland administration areas.
