The Federal Parliament of Somalia passed the 2023 budget today

Members of the two Houses of the Federal Parliament of Somalia today jointly approved the government budget for the year 2023, which was discussed by the members of the Parliament in the last meetings.

This meeting, which was attended by the board and the deputies of the two Houses of the Somali Parliament, took place at the center of the People’s Assembly in Villa Hargeisa. sir

The total budget for this year reached $973,985,805, with this year’s budget being increased for public welfare centers such as government health centers, education and security agencies in the country.

It was a day ago when the Minister of Finance of Somalia, Ili Mohamed Noor, attended the meeting of the two Houses, where the honorable members asked questions related to the government budget for 2023 which was worked on by the finance committee of the two Houses.

The 15th of November was when the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Somalia chaired by the Prime Minister Hamse Abdi Barre passed the government budget for the year 2023, which includes internal revenue and grants amounting to $967.7 million dollars.

The 2023 budget is focused on raising domestic revenue, which is now expected to surpass previous years, with the expectation that it will reach $283.3 million dollars, while the end of the year was $247 million dollars.

The Minister of Finance of the Federal Government of Somalia, Ilmi Mohamud Noor, on his part, thanked the members of the two houses of the Parliament of the Federal Government of Somalia for approving the budget for the year 2023.

In conclusion, the Speaker of the People’s Assembly, Sheikh Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe, announced that the budget for the year is valid, and he thanked the chairman and the MPs of both houses, the Finance Committees of the Parliament for their long efforts and time spent to serve the people and the country.
